Wigs Available for a subsidized donation of Rs. 3000/- for patients and some are given free depending on the category of the file.\r\n Confidence Bags (patients are given bags made by V Care to keep their drainage bags): Given to all patients who have had surgery to keep their drainage tubes and suction containers. Around 50 bags are given in a month, each bag cost Rs.

25/-.\r\n Patient Transport: Travelling is a challenge in a city like Mumbai and if one is a patient and is new and has to do the trip to hospital it becomes even more challenging. To ease this difficulty and also to save on some expense on behalf of the patients. V Care has its vans who ferry Patients and caregivers who stay at Dharamshala at Dadar every day to hospital for their treatment. Every day 8 to 10 to and fro trips are done where around 10-12 patients are ferried.

At present a Maruti Omni which is 7 year old, this needs to be replaced to buy a new one as it has been extensively used and needs to be changed.\n\n Project 2

Prosthesis for Breast Cancer Patients Breast prosthesis for patient who have undergone mastectomy. These are cotton prosthesis which\r\n are washable and suitable to the Indian climate. The Bra costs Rs. 250/- and the prosthesis costs Rs.

200/,\r\n Palliative Care: Help is given to those who cannot be treated but who need to be kept comfortable. Patients who are out of Mumbai are\r\n helped with Rs. 3000/-. Total of 94 patients were supported with Rs. 2,82,000/, Palliative Home Care patients—they are based in\r\n Mumbai and are helped with Rs.

7000/- every month; they are also monitored by monthly visit.\r\n Information Booklets (Literature on various cancers): We have printed material in Hindi and English on most of the cancers and a few\r\n of the emotional topics which help patient and caregivers understand the illness in a more simple language.\n\n Project 3

Umbrellas We in Mumbai look forward to Monsoon . Yet there are Cancer Patients who come to Mumbai for the first time and are ill-equipped to handle the Mumbai rains.\r\n As a small gesture we get umbrellas made for the patients to help them in a very small way.

The cost of each umbrella with V Care logo is Rs. 180/. We normally need about one thousand umbrellas. Discharge Gifts for Toy Room: The Children on Cancer treatment are admitted in the hospitals. It is a tough time for them and their\r\n families.

The expenses mount up, there is pain due to treatment and there is uncertainty of future.\r\n To make it little easy for the family and for the children to be happy, V Care has started a project where a parting gift is given to each child as he leaves to go home.
